Dorothy Geddes (nee Duthie), a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 89 on March 1, 2025. Born on August 20, 1935, in Aberdeen, Scotland, Dorothy embodied warmth, love, and resilience, and touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dorothy's journey to the United States was driven by her desire for a better life for her family. She immigrated with her husband, Roger, bringing with her not just hope but also their son in 1962. Together, they went on to raise two more children, Sandra and Glenn. In 1972, the family made their home in Eastlake, where Dorothy dedicated her life to nurturing her children and contributing to the community through volunteering and supporting various local organizations. She volunteered with her close friend Jo Welly at the Christ Child Society of Cleveland, a Catholic non-denominational charity where she performed preschool eye screening for glasses, made fundraiser raffle baskets, and worked at the Cottage Thri
