James A. Brothag, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, will forever be remembered for his warmth, humor, and love of life. Born on August 21, 1953, in Painesville, Ohio, James peacefully passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 71, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the cherished son of Steven and Sylvia Brothag, who preceded him in death.
James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Laurie Brothag, and his daughter, Jillian Brothag (Steven Stuart), along with his cherished grandchildren, Colton, Natalie, and Kailey. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Brian (Rhia), and Keith (Diane), as well as his brother-in-law Skip, cousin Gene Baker (Kathy), nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members and friends.
