John V. "Jack" DeFilippo, 78, passed away in the early morning of January 17, 2025, in Willoughby, Ohio. He was born on September 10, 1946, and spent his life in Northeast Ohio.Jack was the son of John Otto and Anne DeFilippo and was preceded in death by his brother, Paul. He is survived by his sister, Annette; his five children, Dawn, John, Paul, Daniel, and Vanessa; his many grandchildren; and his former wife and best friend, Darlene (Furman) DeFilippo, who was devoted to his care in his final days.Jack was a man of quiet strength and sharp wit. He loved his coffee, a good book, and never quite fully inhaled his cigarettes. Mornings often found him at the kitchen table with a newspaper or a James Patterson novel, savoring moments of peace before work. A passionate golfer, he eagerly shared the game with others, especially his children.
